TITLE: Pharmacy Purchasing ManagerLocation: Columbus, OHNow is your chance to join a Forbes magazine top 100 hospital where career growth and opportunity await you.They are committed to building healthcare teams whose care exceeds the expectations of their patients and community and are looking for quality talent who share the same values.They’re nestled in a beautiful rural setting but close enough to the big city to enjoy that too!If that sounds like the change you are looking for, please read on…What they’re looking for:• Bachelor’s Degree in business, hospital administration or related field.• Four (4) years of experience working in a hospital or retail pharmacy.• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical procurement laws, regulations, policies and procedures.• Strong analytical and organizational skills.Hours and compensation potential:• The position is full time Monday-Friday.• The range is between $37.25hr-$51.25hr depending on experience.• The facility offers a full benefit package.What you’ll be doing:• Ensures cost effective purchasing of pharmaceuticals throughout the hospital for all departments.• Supports Willow Epic Team in ensuring accuracy of pharmacy charges, evaluation of pharmacy charges and maintenance to create patient charges.• Reviews all inventory levels throughout the hospital to assure optimal turns on all pharmaceuticals as well as availability.• Prepares forecast for drug demand and creates supply plans to assist with ensuring availability of products.• Maintains effective communication with the clinical pharmacists and pharmacy manager, and the finance department.• Reviews, evaluates and maintains pharmacy contracts, inventory and related records. Sources alternate vendors and negotiates purchasing prices and terms with suppliers as necessary.• Controls data for all pharmacy purchasing and works with pharmacists to evaluate products for safety and cost effectiveness.• Responsible for the tracking and removal of all drugs that are recalled.• Maintains a list of drugs not available due to market shortages.• Responsible for the management and oversight of the pharmacy technology applications, including, but not limited to: automated Dispensing System (Pyxis), Pyxis Connect, PAR Rx and CII Safe; bar-coding; and maintenance of drug libraries and reporting for IV.• Maintains preferred items in McKesson for all accounts and reviews daily pharmacy charges (diver report).• Manages the pharmacy buyers. Provides leadership and training as necessary.• Provides coaching and development opportunities and completes annual performance evaluation to ensure the highest level of performance.• Attends conferences, reads job related material to maintain current knowledge of pharmacy purchasing.Additional info:• Reports to the Pharmacy Director.• Position has up to 5 direct reports(Buyers).
