PROJECT MANAGER
OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
Oversees development projects related to the operations of large equipment deployment. As a project manager, your job duties include coordinating project schedules, supervising the proper transportation of equipment, and ensuring that supplies are readily available and the necessary resources are involved. Works to ensure timely implementation of products.
Directs and manages transportation, scheduling, distribution, delivery and other aspects of the implementation process.
You may also manage employees, perform record-keeping, and handle budgeting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Selecting carriers and negotiating contracts and rates.
Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries.
Supervising logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
Organizing warehouse, label goods, plot routes, and process shipments.
Responding to any issues or complaints.
Researching ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers.
Working with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
Evaluating budgets and expenditures.
Updating and evaluating metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
Ensuring all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
Plans, organizes, and directs production, administrative, and warehouse activities to meet or exceed established production goals in a cost-effective manner.
Designs, develops, and implements processes that increase yield and/or improve quality for all processes related to post sales.
Performs workflow analysis and develops methods for the operations team.
Coordinates with managers and supervisors to establish procedural and quality control standards.
Coordinates with client service manager(s) to resolve all operational client complaints.
Develops, implements, and maintains, processes, procedures, and programs to improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of the operation.
Implements and maintains DOT/OSHA and company programs and standards.
Ensures that employees and managers have the required safety training and are consistently working in a safe manner; develops and implements safety programs to reduce accidents and injuries.
Coordinates with managers to address organizational needs, equipment utilization and maintenance.
Provides leadership, communication, and coaching to employees; cultivates a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership.
Ensures that operational supplies are on hand and available at all times.
Ensures that warehouse operations comply with federal, state, local, and/or company policies and regulations.
Prepares all required reports and correspondence.
Develops, implements, and monitors department budget; manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
In-depth knowledge of the consumer goods industry.
Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management processes, i.e. cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, evaluating stocking levels.
Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK EXEMPT This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. TRAVEL
There is limited travel within the state of Ohio.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma
A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, or relevant field.
