Director, HR Business Partner – Jared & Jewelry Services

OVERVIEW

Responsible for directing and implementing field strategic initiatives related to employee relations, culture building, and talent development/retention and overseeing HR support services for Team Members within the Jared banner/Jewelry Services.  Develop and implement long-range team member management strategies to minimize financial impact on the business.  Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate long-term employment programs and strategies that impact the attraction, motivation, development, and retention of Jared and Jewelry Services talent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic direction, oversight, and development for the Jared/Jewelry Services teams to cultivate successful outcomes related to employment issues
  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and coordinate the interpretation of all team member policies, procedures, and practices related to work conduct and discipline. Monitor the consistency in all practices and policy interpretations
  • Resolve highly complex, high-risk complaints/issues escalated by the Field HR Team
  • Develop and implement investigative and closure strategy for internal complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other high-risk employment issues
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and local legal requirements and employment
  • Provide and/or coordinate all legal responses (i.e. EEO, Wage and Hour, etc.) with General Counsel to ensure the investigations of litigious activities are objective and complete
  • Direct the recruitment and selection activities of the Stores to employ, place, and/or transfer internal and external Store Managers and District Managers.
  • Develop, direct, implement, and evaluate on-boarding and retention strategies and link planning/programs to Operations strategy
  • Analyze team metrics related to performance and service levels to develop long range solutions
  • Motivate and evaluate assigned staff to achieve the best of individual and group capabilities

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred
  • HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in human resource management, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred
  • 5+ years’ leadership experience across multi-unit locations with the ability to coach and guide teams for optimal performance
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations; experience with Title VII, ADA, ADEA and FMLA claims
  • Experience with change management and talent development
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Workday HRIS a plus
