Waste Acceptance Coordinator


This is a Full-time position in Avon Lake, OH posted November 7, 2021.

Circon Environmental is currently searching for a Waste Acceptance Coordinator.  Starting pay is competitive in the industry and we offer complete health benefits, Vacation time, and more after the probationary period. 

Job Summary:

The Waste Acceptance Coordinator is responsible for timely, accurately, and efficiently managing waste acceptance functions for Circon Environmental while maintaining compliance with applicable government laws and regulations.

The Waste Acceptance Coordinator Main Responsibilities:

  • Reviews daily inbound schedule for any expired or pending profiles that have been scheduled in to prioritize workload
  • Reviews recertifications and new profiles for accuracy based on EPA, RCRA, DOT, Circon’s permit, and Operational standards
  • Assigns proper outbound destinations to material based on chemical composition
  • Confirms or assigns pricing based on disposal facility costs based on the Pricing book
  • Effectively communications with sales staff and final disposal facility staff to aid in the facilitation of larger projects requiring special scheduling, handling, and pricing.
  • Assigns procedural notes for lab and operations based on chemical composition to help aid in most accurate outbound determination and best safety practices.
  • Runs various reports to collect and analyze data to best maximize efficiency in process.
  • Works closely with Waste Disposal Coordinator and operations to accurately and profitably place waste.
  • Effectively communicates information regarding facilities to management, operations, and sales.
  • Back up to the Waste Disposal Coordinator
  • Performs other job-related duties assigned.

Waste Acceptance Coordinator Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk, see or hear
  • The position involves sitting, walking, driving and lifting less than 10 pounds for long periods of time throughout the day or lift-up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • The worker may be exposed to hazards such as moving vehicles, moving mechanical parts


Waste Acceptance Coordinator Requirements:                                                                                        

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field required.
  • Three years of experience with hazardous materials management preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of hazardous removal procedures and techniques.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills as well as strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include database development and management
