This position is located in **West Jefferson, Ohio** .**JOB SUMMARY** Battelle’s Inhalation Technology & Aerobiology department is seeking an individual whose primary responsibility is to provide technical support for the task work and maintenance of the in the area of inhalation to support Battelle Life Science Research inhalation toxicology.

The staff member will assist in the construction and characterization of aerosol and vapor generation and sampling systems.

This includes responsibility for ensuring that all equipment and reagents and their respective logbooks and records are maintained, performing work that is task specific, and QC review of data.

Additional roles for this position include interfacing with study directors, recording of data, technical review of data, maintaining inhalation equipment, and troubleshooting when needed.**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES** + Execution of test protocols/standard operating procedures to evaluated inhalation exposure system performance+ Preparation of mixtures/formulations, filter samples, calibration samples/blanks+ Assembly, maintenance, and operation of prototype aerosol/vapor generation systems+ Inspection, testing, documentation and maintenance of laboratory equipment+ Following established safety guidelines to safely work with hazardous materials+ Performance of calculations in support of laboratory work+ Preparation of data reports using Microsoft Word and Excel+ Weekend and holiday work required on an as needed basis.**THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED** + Must be enrolled in a university or college and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in biology, analytical chemistry, engineering, pharmacology, toxicology, or another related field.+ Minimum 3.0 GPA+ Good oral and written communication skills, teamwork, self motivation, and attention to detail will be key for this position.

The applicant must be able to work in a team environment and give and take direction.

Applicant must possess skills in using MS Word and Excel programs.+ Must be a US Citizen**THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED** + Experience in the dissemination of aerosols and vapors using various generation devices.+ Experience in the design, construction, and characterization of various systems for the dissemination of aerosols (dry powders and wet suspensions) in the respirable mass range or vapors.**LEGAL DISCLAIMER** The above statements are intended to describe the nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
