HR Data Entry Specialist – 4-6 Month Assignment

The HR Data Entry Specialist will work closely with Human Resources and reports to the Sr. HRIS Analyst. The successful candidate must be able to function independently to meet goals with limited oversight, demonstrate excellent technological and customer service skills, a high level of detail orientation, and must maintain confidentiality at all times. This analyst will be responsible for compiling reports and data related to human resources functions.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for Human Resource data entry via Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) including new hires, terminations, transfers, wages, address changes, name changes, and work actions
  • Provides weekly and monthly reports and other required ad-hoc reports to senior management and department managers/supervisors
  • Compiles and analyzes data on various Human Resource issues; prepares reports and recommendations based on these analyses
  • Investigates issues or inconsistencies with Kronos or UKG Pro platforms, and works to resolve and communicates issues and resolution effectively
  • Creates, runs and distributes monthly department reports and specially requested reports for various departments as requested
  • Responsible for the auditing of employee transactions and identifying any errors and taking action to correct the problem
  • Monitor and update Reports To information on a monthly basis
  • Organizes work, ensures timely data entry into HRIS platform
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English 

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of HR or Data Entry experience required
  • Experience in hospitality, retail, entertainment or other service business is preferred
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service internally and externally
  • Demonstrates an upbeat and positive attitude
  • Ability to guide employees to proper resources whenever help is needed
  • Able to develop creative solutions to challenging problems
  • Effectively manages own workload
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be 21 years of age

Required Certification/License

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Ohio Lottery Commission licensure
