Family Development Specialist

Definition and Primary Objective:

Provides parent education, educational activities, and direct casework assistance to families through The Every Child Succeeds Program. Works with Spanish and English Speaking families prenatally to age three, in their home with the objective of creating a safe and healthy environment for the child, as well as preparing the child for academic success.

Minimum Education, Experience and Other Skill Requirements:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field from an accredited college or university (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Undergraduate specialization in social work or two years of experience in a social work agency required. Previous home visiting or experience working with children birth to three preferred. Valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Must possess minimum technical skills including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift objects of up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely in changing weather conditions required.
