Job Summary: This role oversees continuous improvement, lean initiatives and projects which will result in reductions in manufacturing costs by providing training, expertise, and direction for improvement activities to support the manufacturing goals and objectives of the organization. This position also ensures that the supply chain companies continually develop their process in line with the design intent of the customer and verify their systems to ensure they are compliant with the end customer’s needs
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Create the lean vision and continuous improvement strategy to advance the customer experience through improved cycle time, on-time delivery, and ensure all other customer critical to quality areas.
- Responsible for delivering performance excellence through execution of lean initiatives; providing coaching of the functional standard work and problem solving.
- Coach all levels from team members to leadership in lean methodology and principles, policy deployment, problem solving, etc
- Ensure compliance with standard processes and tools, supports the value stream team to develop and follow their personal standard work.
- Coach all plant operations through lean process and behavior changes, developing a highly effective daily management process focused on lean tools and principles.
- Carry out supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP).
- Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
- Lead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks
- Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards
- Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading teams in a lean transformation
- Experience implementing and developing teams to implement pull systems
- History of leadership thru influence, coaching, mentoring and teaching.
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
- Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
- Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
- Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
- Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
- Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills
