Position Summary:

The Business Data Analyst will provide reporting, insights and analysis on the Financial Services business, including both credit and sales data, including the Signet self-funded near prime portfolio.  This would include integration and reporting on third party partner data an internally generated data.  The Business Data Analyst will utilize tools like Alteryx, Business Objects and Tableau to provide the insights and analysis. 

The Business Data Analyst will also create and maintain databases and data marts that will increase efficiency and usability.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Create and maintain regular reporting related to the Financial Services products and services utilizing tools such as Alteryx, Business Objects and Tableau.

  • Provide ad hoc analysis on the Financial Services products and services including deep dives on sales and credit performance, risk associated with the self-funded near prime portfolio and performance of any pilot programs. 

  • Create and maintain databases/data marts of sales, credit and third-party information for more efficient data retrieval and analysis.

  • Maintain proficiency on data tools, including certification programs where appropriate.

  • Performs additional duties and projects as assigned.

  • Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job.

Position Qualifications:

Education required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or similar discipline. 

Required or Acceptable Job-Related Experience: Strong database management skills, basic credit operations knowledge and advanced ability in use of data cleansing, blending and visualization tools (Alteryx, SAS, Tableau, etc).

Years of Job-Related Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a data intensive, analytical role.

Technical/Other Skills Required: Knowledge of MS Word, Power Point and Access.  Advance level skills in the use of MS Excel.  Strong critical thinking skills.  Good verbal and written communication skills.
