Claims Adjuster Associate – Global Specialty

This is a Contract position in Dayton, OH posted September 27, 2021.

Overview Over a training period over approximately 2
– 3 months, the Adjuster Associate will learn all aspects of Global Specialty’s Claims handling processes.

Upon completion of required training, the Associate is often assigned to lower severity, non-litigated claims; the work is reviewed and signed off by a supervisor or manager.

The Associate is responsible for prompt review of insurance claims through effective research, evaluation, investigation, negotiation, and interaction with insureds and claimants.

The position can anticipate frequent oversight by the supervisor based on the learning curve.

Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values.

Upholds the standards of the AmTrust and Claims organization.

This position doesn’t start until October 2021 Responsibilities Actively participates in extended training sessions for 8 weeks, upon hiring.

Leverages and builds critical thinking and decision-making skills to gather, assess, analyze, question, verify, interpret, and understand key or root issues.

Demonstrates ability to learn technical materials and learns from mistakes to achieve best possible outcomes for claimant, customer, and company.

Reviews, processes, and concludes lower severity claims following company protocols and trained methodology.

Whether directly or indirectly interacting with customers, ensures quality and timeline service is provided to all.

Verifies coverage and policy conditions.

Review coverage and policy issues as needed with supervisor until proficient.

Investigates through the collection of all data, statements, and other pertinent information.

Settles and negotiates non-litigated claims with oversight and coaching from manager Writes in a clear, succinct, and fact-based manner in Claims files as well as in other communication.

Manages time and diary entries effectively and efficiently, prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment.

Performs other functional duties as assigned.

Successfully obtains a required Adjuster Licensing upon the completion of the 8-week training program.

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suites Demonstrated skills in investigation, evaluation, and negotiation Some knowledge of insurance theory and practices The ability to work independently, in a remote environment, with an expectation that when Claims offices can safely reopen, the position may no longer be a remote work assignment Preferred: Ability to travel is required for some positions This job description is designed to provide a general overview of the requirements of the job and does not entail a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that will be required in this position.
