Apply today and Long Live Sliders™!JOB OPENINGMAINTENANCE MECHANICZanesville Meat Plant Zanesville, OhioFull Time – Second Shift 3:30pm to 12:30am Basic PurposeThis position is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment in all other areas of the meat plant facility to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Refrigeration equipment must also be maintained to enable a quality product to be produced and stored since temperatures are critical within the plant.

General upkeep of the building and outside premises must also be maintained.

Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesPrevious work experience and/or education in ammonia refrigeration, operating machine shop equipment (drill press, lathe, and mill) preferred.PLC, 440 3-phase voltage electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, high pressure pumps (Hotsy System), air compressors, welding.Read blueprints and schematics.Supply own basic hand tools.Adequate knowledge of safe lifting procedures and be able to follow instructions given by the person in charge, while working closely with the Quality Assurance Department.An understanding of the basic lockout program and proper procedures for safety.This position requires the ability to work well with co-workers in a physically close environment.

Essential FunctionsMaintain and repair production equipment including the spiral freezer, ammonia refrigeration system, and the equipment in the various rooms of the facility as well as maintain the building and outside premises.Assemble and disassemble production equipment.Maintain the maintenance shop including the operation and maintenance of the equipment in the shop.Design and fabricate specialty items needed for production and/or production equipment (welding required).Check facilities on the weekends and/or holidays.Perform all the above mentioned duties in a safe, sanitary and efficient manner.Special attention must be given to the QUALITY ASSURANCE GUIDELINES and strict adherence to the guidelines must be maintained at all times to insure the wholesomeness of our product.

Physical EffortHeavy lifting is required for this position, up to at least 100 lbs.Bending, twisting, turning, kneeling, squatting, crawling will be required for this position.Must be physically able to wear a respirator and work in cold environments.Additional InformationYour last two regularly scheduled performance appraisals, or four out of your last five regularly scheduled performance appraisals, must be Solid Performance of 3.00 or better (prior to the REACH appraisal system, score must be Consistently Met Expectations of 2.50 or better).
