Quality Assurance Technician- 2nd shift

The role of the 2nd shift QA Technician will be responsible for maintaining the quality systems and food safety procedures to ensure quality standards and are being met. Provide effective communications between all departments to ensure efficient operation of the facility. Upholds the company standard for product quality and integrity. Typical start time is 3:30 for setup before production starts for the day. Shift hours will vary depending on customer needs, but typically will end by 12:30, but has run as late at 3:00 on rare occasions.SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:* Maintain daily documentation on pre-operation inspection, flume checks and adjustments, temperature checks, raw product analysis, defect and packaging checks, hand dip and foot bath checks, and retain inspection. Take appropriate corrective actions and document accordingly.* Coordinate and complete all sample requests.* Document and communicate pregrade analysis on arriving raw product.* Maintain retain samples.* Complete all hourly checks on time* Complete all required paperwork in a timely fashion. Maintain all necessary files accurately.* Complete weekly and maintain pest control inspection logs and microbiological testing.* Complete and communicate monthly brittle plastic and glass inspection and ensure completion of required tasks.Internal Control EnvironmentRaw Product:* Verify receiving paperwork counts and weights against delivery schedule* Complete catch weights in JDE via delivery schedule* Complete PO receipts in JDE via delivery schedule* Complete reverse receipts for incoming rejections* Receive negative receipts for incoming rejectionsPERFORMANCE MEASURES:* Completion of task accurately and on time.FOOD SAFETY AND SECURITY:* Follow all GMPs, GLPs, work safety rules and food safety and security rules.* Ensures that testing and monitoring are completed per procedure and any nonconforming event is addressed with appropriate corrective action.* Complete records accurately and in a timely mannerPRINCIPAL CONTACTS INTERNALLY/EXTERNALLY:* Plant supervisors for corrective actions for quality issues from process checks or training need* Plant Maintenance for corrective actions for equipment issues or facility issues* Plant schedulers for inventory review.* Procurement for incoming product disposition if rejected* Warehouse personnel for communication on incoming product sampling and receiving paperworkGENERAL: Serve as an example for GMPsWORK ENVIRONMENT: Lab and PlantQUALIFICATIONS:* High School education or GED* Qualified candidates will have experience in quality assurance (food manufacturing would be a plus) in conjunction with competency in interpersonal, organizational, teamwork, and strong detail oriented skills.
