Tasks:

• Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear and ensure that they are in compliance with rules, standards, or regulations
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
• Test mechanical equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance
• Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment using proper tools.
• Record details of repairs made, and parts used

Knowledge:

• Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Transportation — Knowledge of principles and methods for moving equipment or goods

Skills:

• Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
• Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
• Operation and Control — Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
• Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
