Position OverviewServes as a primary service provider working with families towards achievement of developmental outcomes in the natural environments of infant and toddlers (Birth-Age 2). Provides detailed, comprehensive development assessment and evaluation of communication, gross motor, fine motor, social/emotional, cognitive and self-help skills. Develops personalized outcome strategies that promote skill building in all developmental areas through play and functional activities in everyday routines. Acts as licensed professional (i.e. Occupational, Speech, Physical Therapist) in compliance with the rules and regulations of governing professional licensing Board in order to develop and implement individualized prescriptive plan and outcome strategies to meet therapeutic needs of children served. Services provided in person and via remote technology.Summary of Job DutiesParticipates in the transdisciplinary team process by acting as a primary service provider (PSP), and at times a secondary service provider, working towards achievement of developmental outcomes in the natural environments of infant and toddlers (Birth-Age 2). In compliance with Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) standards, provides detailed, comprehensive development assessment and evaluation of communication, gross motor, fine motor, social/emotional, cognitive and self-help skills. Develops personalized outcome strategies to be included in the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) that promote skill building in all developmental areas through play and functional activities in everyday routines. Utilizes coaching techniques and adult learning styles to enhance the family’s and caregiver’s capacities to be confident and competent in implementing IFSP strategies in order to help the child reach his/her potential. Provides special instruction through a variety of state recognized methods including but not limited to in-person and via technology. Acts as licensed professional (i.e. Occupational, Speech, Physical Therapist) in compliance with the rules and regulations of governing professional licensing Board in order to develop and implement individualized prescriptive plan and outcome strategies to be included in the IFSP to meet therapeutic needs of children served. Conducts developmental evaluations/assessments for eligibility determination. Coaches, families, caregivers and other primary service providers on implementation of strategies, evaluates progress toward outcomes & modifies recommended strategies and activities as needed. Collaborates with outside agencies and professionals through attendance at meetings, therapy sessions, doctor and clinical visits, etc. in order to support the family and facilitate communication. Participates in the transition process of enrolled children to preschool as requested by parent.Minimum Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy; Licensed Occupational Therapist per Ohio Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy/Athletic Trainer Board (OTPTAT) ORBachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; Licensed Physical Therapist per Ohio Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy/Athletic Trainer Board (OTPTAT) OR Master’s degree in Speech & Language Pathology; holds Certificate in Clinical Competency (CCC), or is eligible to work a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY); License from Ohio Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, And must be eligible for Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Early Intervention Specialist certification per OAC 5123:2-5-05 and maintain same after employment; valid First Aid and CPR certification; valid driver’s license with access to ongoing personal transportation or ability to independently travel to location of services in the homes and communities of children. Preferred qualification: PLAY Project certification (Play & Language for Autistic Youngsters) Telework In addition to periodic in-person meetings, this position requires remote work for the majority of work hours. Reliable internet service is required.
